Historical Detail
Between 1928 and 1931 the NS ordered a set of three different coaches for use on international trains. The first batch of 9 first (A) and second class (B) coaches were built by J. J. Beijnes and Werkspoor and entered service as NS AB 7201-7209 in 1928. The second batch of 6 third class (C) coaches were also built by J. J. Beijnes and Werkspoor and entered service as NS C 7201-7206, also in 1928. And the last batch of 12 first (A) and second class (B) coaches were built by Westwaggon and entered service as NS AB 7210-7221 in 1930-1931.
The Oval-windower in-game is based of the first (A) and second (B) class coaches. These coaches had two first class compartments, five second class compartments and a toilet on either end, all connected by one corridor.
After multiple renumberings and slowly being replaced by new Plan K coaches, they were eventually degraded to domestic trains and between 1968-1970 most were withdrawn and scrapped.
One coach however was preserved, NS AB 7216 (now renumbered to NS B 6196) was preserved and in 2008 restored to its original number and is currently at the SGB.
