Historical Detail
SS
The Maatschappij tot Exploitatie van de Staatsspoorwegen (SS) ordered 4 of these coaches throughout 1900 at the factory Van der Zyphen for international trains to Germany, which were based on existing Prussian coaches, which is why these coaches have skylights. The coaches were divided in three segments, the two outer segments were second class and the middle one first. Each segment had one toilet. They entered service as first (A) and second (B) class coaches 751-754.
NS
When the SS and Hollandsche IJzeren Spoorweg-maatschappij (HSM) merged in 1921, the coaches were renumbered to NS AB 6009-6012, still first and second class. They would eventually be replaced by modern, metal coaches. All were scrapped. The brake cabin fitted to the coaches were slowy removed from most coaches following the introduction of the continious braking system.
AB 6012 was withdrawn in 1933, the other 3 coaches were renumbered and classed to B 6101-6103, only second class. Two coaches were withdrawn and scrapped 1935 and 1949. B 6103 however went missing in germany.
