Historical Detail
SS
Between 1905-1907 The Maatschappij tot Exploitatie van de Staatsspoorwegen (SS) ordered a group of 65 braked coaches that were both first and second class from Van der Zypen and J. J. Beijnes. The coaches were built with seven compartments and three toilets, which were all placed on the same side of the coach. They would enter service as SS AB 761-825.
NS
After the SS and the Hollandsche IJzeren Spoorweg-maatschappij (HSM) merged in 1921, the coaches were renumbered to NS AB 6021-6085. In 1934, the 25 remaining coaches were demoted to be entirely second class and renumbered to NS B 6111-6135. They kept their numbers until they were ultimately replaced by more modern rolling stock. All were scrapped.
Trivia
- The braked 1912 compartment coach is from 1905, but is not named as such in-game to avoid confusion with the braked 1905 compartment coach from the HSM and because it just is a braked version of the 1912 compartment coach.
- The Braked 1912 compartment coach has been available since version 0.5.29, along with its unbraked counterpart.
