Historical Detail
SS
The Maatschappij tot Exploitatie van de Staatsspoorwegen (SS) ordered 10 of these coaches throughout 1901 at the factory J.J. Beijnes . The coaches were divided in two, with five second class compartments on one side and three first class compartments one the other. Two toilets were placed at either half of the coach. They entered service as First class (A) and second class (B) coaches 831-840.
NS
When the SS and Hollandsche IJzeren Spoorweg-maatschappij (HSM) merged in 1921, the coaches got renumbered to NS AB 6221-6230, still a first and second class. In 1934 they were renumbered to NS B 6011-6020, having the first class compartments demoted to second class. Then in 1939 they were renumbered to NS C 6801-6810, all compartments being demoted to third class. They would eventually be replaced by modern, metal coaches. All were scrapped.
