Historical Detail
Like the Oval-windower, these coaches were ordered by NS in 1928 and built by factory Werkspoor to modernise the obsolete, wooden coaches. The Square-windower coaches were used on domestic trains and entered service as first (A) and second (B) class coaches. 7521-7555. The coaches had 9 compartments, 2 for first class and the other 7 for second class. Each coach had 1 toilet.
In the early 50s 10 coaches were rebuilt to third class coaches with 9 compartments and were renumbered to C 7151-7160. Two coaches (those being AB 7531 and 7544) were rebuilt into royal coaches numbered 8 and 9 respectively.
During the 60s after multiple renumberings the coaches were slowly being withdrawn and scrapped in favor of new Plan K coaches.
