Historical Detail

HSM
In 1907 the Hollandsche IJzeren Spoorweg-Maatschappij (HSM) ordered 5 coaches from J. J. Beijnes for trains running from Amsterdam to Zandvoort aan Zee, hence the name Green Zandvoorter. The coaches had no toilet and entered service as second class (B) coaches HSM B 1101-1105.
NS
When the HSM and Maatschappij tot Exploitatie van de Staatsspoorwegen (SS) merged in 1921, the coaches were renumbered to NS BC 1801-1805, now being second and third class coaches.
ZHESM
In 1927 they were relocated to run on the lines that Zuid-Hollandsche Electrische Spoorweg-Maatschappij used and were renumbered to NS BC 8001-8004 and 8031.
Post World War 2
After WW2 they were relocated to local trains from Zwolle to Amersfoort among others, here they would spend the rest of their operational service.
