Historical Basis

The station in Vrouwbuurtstermolen was opened on May 15. 1902, built on the Harlingen - Stiens line in 1901. As the station was built in the Friesland province, it had a standardised design, called Standard Type NLFS. Vrouwbuurtstermolen was built with the NFLS stop 3rd class. A total of 12 of these stations, including Vrouwbuurtstermolen, were built, with 7 of the 12 surviving in modern day.
The station itself served as a stopping station on the Harlingen - Stiens line, and remained open until December 1. 1940. The station building itself would still stand way into present day, along with various others of the same type.
