Historical details

The Tds covered hopper was a standardised series of hoppers with an opening roof used to transport various cargoes. They could be seen all throughout Europe transporting things like coal dust, calcium carbonate or agricultural products like grain. The calcium carbonate wagons can be clearly picked out; they are usually all white because of the calcium carbonate dust. These wagons can still be seen in use throughout Europe today, with no examples in the Netherlands preserved.
