The Ex-HSM bogies luggage van is available in Nederlandsche Spoorwegen green and HSM red. The latter can be accessed through the Preserved Four gamepass.
Historical Detail
HSM
Between 1912-1920 the Hollandsche IJzeren Spoorweg-Maatschapij (HSM) ordered 56 of these wooden luggage vans to replace the older 2- and 3 axled rolling stock. They entered service as HSM D 1901-1956. The construction is very similar the previous luggage vans used by the HSM, the only difference being the length and the wagon having 2 bogies instead of 2 or 3 axles.
NS
When the HSM and Maatschappij tot Exploitatie van de Staatsspoorwegen (SS) merged in 1921, the 55 vans still used for luggage were renumbered to NS D 6001-6055, D 1915 became NS 159001 to be used an instructional coach the previous year. Like most other wooden rolling stock used for passenger trains the remaining luggage vans were withdrawn in scrapped in the 1950s, the last being scrapped in 1956
Trivia
- Three of these survived into preservation: the HSM D 1915, 1920, and 1945.
- These were to be the last wooden luggage vans to be constructed in the Netherlands, as the NS only constructed steel ones after 1920.
- The Ex-HSM bogied luggage van got added in version 0.4.9.
- The HSM livery was added with the release of the Preserved Four gamepass in 0.5.
