The 13 meter luggage van is a wooden special wagon that can be used on passenger trains.
Variants
The 13 meter luggage van is available in Nederlandsche Spoorwegen green and Staatsspoorwegen brown. The latter can be accessed through the Preserved Four gamepass.
Historical details
SS
The Maatschappij tot Exploitatie van de Staatsspoorwegen (SS) ordered 98 of these luggage vans between 1909-1915 for both domestic and international trains.
NS
When the SS and Hollandsche IJzeren Spoorweg-maatschappij (HSM) merged in 1921, all luggage vans were renumbered to NS D 4001-4098. All luggage vans were withdrawn and scrapped between 1955 and 1958. D 4088 however (among other rolling stock) was taken to Germany and reported missing. In 2003 a German rail enthusiast discovered D 4088 and the van returned to the Netherlands in 2004. D 4088 is currently on display in the Dutch Railway Museum.
