Historical Detail
Between 1935 and 1939 the NS ordered a new series of steel coaches from factory Werkspoor for international trains to neighbouring countries like Germany, Belgium and France. The coaches were painted olive green with silver roofs but with the threat of war the roofs were repainted to grey. In 1956 the coaches were repainted to Berlin blue. None of the prewar bolkops were ever painted turquoise.
The 3rd Class Prewar Bolkop is based of the NS Cd 7211-7222 class built in 1937. They had 80 third class seats. After World War 2 a lot of coaches were either stolen or destroyed. Before being withdrawn and out of service all coaches got renumbered and reclassed multiple times.
