The USATC Warwell is a standardized wagon used by the USATC in the battle in Europe and Africa.

Variants

The USATC Warwell is only available in USATC livery.

A 30 ton Warwell wagon at the Mid Hants Railway.

Historical details

The United States Transportation Corps, on top of their locomotives, required an entire fleet of wagons to help with the war effort. They designed an entire fleet of mostly 2 and 4 axle wagons, consisting of flatcars, vans, tankers, gondola's and heavy lowloaders to transport tanks and other heavy equipment.

Most of the wagons were shipped to Europe in parts, and put together here. They saw extensive use throughout the allied campaign, with most wagons not returning to the United States after the war was won. Lots of wagons saw service in the countries in which they'd been left, with others being scrapped. Various examples of the USATC fleet can be found all over Europe, with some wagons preserved in the Netherlands, too.

Trivia

  • The traction engine on top of the Warwell is based on the Mclaren 10hp road loco, called 'Gigantic'.
  • Prior to being rebuild by Emil in version 0.2.5, the Warwell transported some metal construction.
  • The War Department gamepass has been available since launch, thus the USATC Warwell has too.
