Historical details
The 1920 standard tanker was used to transport oil between various refineries. They were built between 1910s-1930s and were owned by many private companies. To keep the oil from freezing, they were equipped with a steam heating system that could be connected to a stationary boiler or a steam locomotives boiler. Later in preservation they were used as a additional water storage for operational steam locomotives. A few wagons of this type are preserved in various railway museums around the Netherlands, such as wagon numbers NS 530 714 P, NS 506 607 P at the Museum Buurtspoorweg, and NS 510 130 P at the Stoomtrein Goes Borsele.
