Description
General
Seest is a small town, mainly accessible by rail and road, with older architecture. It welcomes industry, indicated by the local industries and railway connection to Kroosdrichem's sugar factory.
It is also connected by road to the stationless town Dijkhuizen.
History
In 1350, Seest received a keep. This keep, and the protection it offered, attracted many people to the village. With people came merchants and industry, turning Seest into a small but popular town.
Meat industry
The meat processing plant plays an important part in Seest's development. It has made Seest more accessible for ships by expanding the already existing channel's dead end. It's currently the only end-point for Livestock routes.
