Summary

Description

Originally built as long distance railcars (Rame à Grand Parcours or RGP), when constructed in the mid-1950s they were used on mainline services across France. As such they wore the orange and grey livery similar to the Turbotrain series. Over the years they were cascaded onto local routes with most being allocated to Lyon Vaise depot for services into the Jura and Massif Central areas.

Seen here at St Claude on 4 September 1989 is X2737 & trailer X7759 on the 11:18 Lyon Perrache to St Claude. The train started off as a 4-car set with 2 cars being detached at La Cluse.
